The control plane is a bus of web services: every Network Function exposes HTTP/2 REST APIs on the Service-Based Interface and discovers peers through the NRF. Only four reference points survive as classic point-to-point protocols: N1 (NAS), N2 (NGAP), N3/N6/N9 (user plane) and N4 (PFCP).
